Hangeul Cultural Product Idea Award Hangeul Becomes a Part of Everyday Life.
Artworks and cultural products that take Hangeul as their motif are being introduced to the world to raise awareness of the aesthetic and scientific excellence of Hangeul. In line with this trend, the Hangeul Cultural Product Idea Award invites the general public to share their ideas every year.
The Hangeul Cultural Product Idea Award is an annual event designed to promote the aesthetic and scientific excellence of Hangeul and make Hangeul more a part of our everyday life. Countless people participate in this event to share their ideas on Hangeul-inspired cultural products with the world every year.
This practical ‘Love Hangeul’ campaign has been jointly hosted by the King Sejong Memorial Project Association, the Love Hangeul Campaign Headquarters, the Hangeul Academic Society, the Hangeul Foundation, the Oesolhoe Association, and the Hangeul Refinement Promotion Association since 2005. Submissions are accepted in three areas: Completed Good, Rendering, and Idea. One recipient of the King Sejong Award is selected in the Completed Good area, while winners of the Euttem, Beogeum, Arum, and Joeun Awards are selected in each of the three areas.
A large number of products and ideas that highlight the unique color of Hangeul and are highly practical and useful for everyday life have been submitted for consideration since 2005. The rising level of quality of the candidate goods and ideas has been making the jury’s job of selecting award winners increasingly difficult.
Information on past award winners can be found at Community > Photo Album on the King Sejong Memorial Project Association’s website (http://www.sejongkorea.org).
