Jeonju Daesasup Festival
Daeajaeng and Janggu Performance
Daesasup refers to the practice carried out by singing troupe members to enhance their skills. An annual event, which was first held in 1975, Jeonju Daesaseup Festival uplifts the spirit of performers with traditional music. The event is designed to hand down the unique sound and rhythms of the country’s music to following generations and to select maestros. During the festival renowned singing troupes around Korea perform their best performances. Jeonju Daesaseup Festival is a Korean traditional music festival that promotes the succession of Korean traditional music.

Seoul Gugak Festival
Pansori Performance at Seoul Gukak Festival
This is a year-round festival that combines the beauty of traditional music with the popularity of fusion music so that all family members and anyone else with the inclination may join it. It was first held in 2006 with the aim of helping people become more familiar with Korean traditional culture and music. Held four times a year, once each season, it has become a festival that everyone can enjoy all year-round. The festival intends to provide as many things to see and hear as possible. Everything from pop music and film scores to traditional nursery rhymes can be heard; including dances, B-Boys, beatbox, hanbok and films, in addition to traditional and fusion music.
