Seoul Namsan Gugakdang, a Place to Enjoy Traditional Korean Music in a Traditional Korean House
Namsan Mountain is the most popular destinations in the heart of Seoul for those wishing to take a good rest while enjoying a view of the city. Located at one end of a stretch of the mountain is Namsangol Hanok Maeul (Village), in which the Seoul Namsan Gugakdang, where the audience can experience the beautiful Korean traditional music right next to nature, is located.

Seoul Namsan Gugakdang, the place where audiences can enjoy live Korean traditional music, is located within Namsangol Hanok Maeul.
Opened in November 2007, Seoul Namsan Gugakdang, a theatre for performing Korean traditional music, enables audiences to enjoy the vivid sound of the country’s music in a Korean traditional house. The 330-seat performance hall is equipped with top-notch facilities, perfect for performances, including sound systems, lighting and stage facilities.
The hall is also used for lectures on the country’s traditional musical instruments and traditional arts, cultural classes for the youth, and programs for various hands-on cultural experiences. The Seoul Namsan Gugakdang has become the place for all who enjoy listening to Korean traditional music to visit and share Korean traditional music upclose.
