Bukchon is located at the center of Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeok Palace and Jongmyo, which were positioned based on the Joseon Confucian ideas, and is a traditional residential area showing the 600 years of history of Seoul. This village is surrounded with beautiful scenery, and has kept countless alleys intact since they were made.

- This area was called Bukchon, the north village, as it is located in the north part of Cheonggyecheon Stream and Jongno. It was famous for its residents, high-ranking government officials or royal families. A few houses remain and show the reputation of the residents.

At Bukchon Hanok Village, you can see many houses standing side by side with walls shared with the next house, and you can also enjoy the cozy atmosphere of alleys as well as the beauty of the eaves. Differing from western roads, the traditional roads in this village look like tree branches or streams.
