    Hahoe village
Tourists can see the largest number of tile-roofed houses and straw-roofed houses in this village. The village residents were all Pungsan Yoo family members. The village is located at the area surrounded by Nakdong River in the shape of the Great Absolute, and the entire village is designated as National Folk Material No. 122. The village is called Hahoe, which means the village surrounded by the meandering reiver.
  • Hahoe village
There are over 300 houses of upper class and commoners' straw-roofed houses, along with well-preserved village alleys and walls built in the construction system with rammed earth. Among the houses, Chunghyodang shows the typical structure and space allocation method with a detached house for men, servants' quarters, the main building for women, and a shrine for ancestors' tablets. Hahoetal, a traditional mask, is a special product of this village, and the only mask designated as a national treasure, National Treasure No. 121, among many traditional masks of Korea.
Hahoe Village has gained much more popularity since Queen Elizabeth II of the UK visited it. It has lost its calm atmosphere since then, but still, it is recognized as a representative traditional village of Korea, along with Yangdong Village of Wolseong.
