Jeonju Hanok Village is the only village where over 700 well-preserved traditional houses are concentrated in the downtown area. The village is a representative tourist attraction of Korea, where tourists can fully enjoy the traditional Korean culture.
-
- Jeonju has actively worked on establishing the Hanok village since it hosted several games in 2002 FIFA World Cup. There are a lot of historic sites including Gyeonggijeon, Jeondong Cathedral, Pungnam-dong, Omokdae School, Gyeonhweon Castle site, and the Namgosansung fortress wall, and many traditional cultural places such as the traditional culture center, the art craft gallery, the masterwork gallery, the Hanok lifestyle-experiencing center, the traditional liquor museum, Jeonju traditional paper center, and the oriental medicine center. There are also many traditional craft houses producing folding fans such as Hapjukseon and Taegeukseon, traditional teahouses, and traditional restaurants.

- Hanok in Gyo-dong and Pungnam-dong is significant, showing the housing culture developed since the 1910's during the period of transformation to the industrialized society.
Therefore, systematic preservation, renovation, and development of the village are required, as the experts from all works of life and the citizens pointed out that Hanok of Jeonju City should be managed at the national level to secure the historic and traditional value of the housing culture of Korean cities.
