- Wanggok Village of Obong-ri, Gosung-gun, has been relatively well preserved among traditional villages in Gangwon-do, attracting the attention of many researchers. It was designated as 'Traditional Building Protection Area No. 1', based on the 'Research Paper on the Traditional Building Protection Area', presented by experts and government officials appointed by the Cultural Properties Administration in 1988 after actual inspection of the traditional areas.
