Yangdong Village is located in Yangdong-ri, Gangdong-myeon, Gyeongju City, Gyeongsangbuk-do. It was designated as a traditional village of Korea, along with Hahoe Village, and recognized as a representative traditional village showing the lifestyle of the upper class.

The houses in the village are square-shaped, and they are located along the valley. The houses of the head family are located on the top, and the houses of offspring are located in the middle of the valley.

The size of houses in the downside was smaller than that in the upper side, and Garab House, a house for unmarried slaves, was placed at the foot of the valley. This reflects the hierarchy of a family, and this is the spatial realization of the Confucian social class system.
